In the face of a changing climate, deforestation, and food insecurity, a quiet revolution is taking root across Uganda and girls are leading it. At Primate Girls Go Green Foundation Ltd, we’re proving that when girls plant trees, they grow more than forests they grow futures.

Why Girls Matter in Climate Solutions

Girls and young women are often at the frontlines of environmental challenges — fetching water from distant sources, caring for families affected by food shortages, or living in climate-impacted rural areas. But instead of being passive victims of the climate crisis, they are powerful agents of change.

By equipping girls with tools, training, and support, we empower them to:

  • Plant and care for fruit-bearing trees
  • Lead climate awareness campaigns
  • Educate their communities on sustainability
  • Support nutrition and income through agroforestry

Real Impact, Real Girls

Meet Faridah, a 16-year-old student from Mbale. She joined our Green Girls Network and received hands-on training in fruit tree planting. Today, she’s mobilized 40 of her classmates to start a school orchard and even led a community tree-planting day in her village.

“We used to wait for help,” she says. “Now we are the helpers. We are greening our schools, one tree at a time.”

Her story is not unique, it’s part of a growing wave of youth-led climate leadership blooming across Uganda.

From Learners to Leaders

Our programs don’t just teach tree planting — they instill leadership, resilience, and pride. Girls involved in our projects:

  • Gain environmental knowledge
  • Develop public speaking and mobilization skills
  • Feel seen, valued, and empowered
  • Inspire younger girls to join the green movement

This is what climate justice looks like inclusive, local, and led by the very people it impacts most.

What Grows with Every Tree Planted by a Girl?

  • A stronger environment
  • A more food-secure household
  • A confident young leader
  • A more resilient community

These aren’t just fruit trees, they are symbols of hope, sustainability, and strength.

Support the Movement

Do you believe in girl-led climate action? Here’s how you can help:

  • Donate a tree in honor of a girl
  • Support a school orchard
  • Volunteer or partner with us
  • Share their stories with your network

Together, we’re not just planting trees, we’re raising a generation of green leaders.
